verbinfers, inferring, inferred
1bônaakanyetsa‘We can infer that he knew nothing about it’ — Re lemoga fa a na a sa itse sepê ka yônê
- form an opinion or work something out from what somebody says or does, even though they do not actually say it
Do not confuse with imply. Remember that imply and infer are a pair of words with opposite meanings, in the same way that lend means the opposite of borrow and teach the opposite of learn. Don't say 'What exactly are you inferring?' when you mean 'What exactly are you implying?'
